Hitchhiker's Guide to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival

I'm leading an informal discussion on plays being presented at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in the 2009 season. I began this program last year in response to requests from our regular attendees at the Thursday Noon Hour Club, and I'm happy that they have asked me to do so again this year. We'll get an overview of the plots and characters, debate interpretations, watch some film clips and see what else we can stuff into 60 minutes of Bard-ic discussion.

Tuesdays, from 2-3pm, Stratford Public Library Auditorium (3rd floor)
Admission: Free
All are welcome.

April 14 - Macbeth
April 21 - Bartholomew Fair (Ben Jonson)
April 28 - Julius Caesar
May 5 - A Midsummer Night's Dream
May 12 - by popular vote: Phedre

No more reviews in Stratford Gazette

Alas, poor Gazette, I knew them readers. Due to the very scary economic times facing all of us, the Stratford Gazette decided not to hire me this year to write theatre reviews. However, the media office at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival has graciously given me media tickets to their 2009 openings, provided I keep this blog going. This seemed quite generous (and somewhat flattering), so faithful readers can expect new reviews here shortly after the season opens on June 1st.

Thanks for your support!
